1. Scope of our Privacy Policy
Our Privacy Policy covers the request for personal data for registration and, consequently, processing, within the provision of Leitão e Irmão’s services, and also covers our website. Leitão e Irmão is committed to respecting the privacy of its Clients and to comply with the Privacy Policy, its principles, confidentiality and data security.
Clients provide the information and data requested in accordance with Portuguese or European legislation in force and authorise their processing in a free and informed manner.
We would also like to inform you that you can exercise your rights of access, rectification, oblivion, limitation, portability and opposition to the processing of personal data. In accordance with the law, Leitão e Irmão can provide all the information and personal data, when so requested by the proper authorities, in accordance with applicable legislation, as well as when a matter of public interest is involved.
2. Purpose of the data
The personal information collected from the Client, should you so specifically and explicitly consent, may be processed for any or all of the following purposes:
- Registering the Client’s file, within the scope of Leitão e Irmão’s services, in keeping with the interests of the Client;
- Allowing Leitão e Irmão to contact the Client, if strictly necessary to carry on its business and to provide the services, as well as to safeguard the Client’s interests;
- Sending details of services and personalised marketing information related to Leitão e Irmão’s business in keeping with the Client’s profile, taking into account age, gender, area of residence and stated personal preferences;
- Sending quality and satisfaction polls regarding the services provided.
Leitão e Irmão will not use your personal data for other purposes, the content of which has not been consented.
Consent may be withdrawn by the Client at any time without compromising the legality of the processing conducted on the basis of the consent previously given.
3. Processing personal data and Data controllers
Leitão e Irmão is responsible for processing the data and has appointed as data controller its IT Department.
The personal data of our Clients are stored in the internal database, to which only its employees have access, and they are bound to secrecy and confidentiality rules. These records are relevant to the processing of personal data, taking into account the purpose mentioned above, ensuring privacy in processing of your personal data.
Within the scope of its business Leitão e Irmão may process your personal data with other entities, including processors, who will be responsible for processing the data, ensuring their privacy and protection.
These entities process the personal information to the strict extent necessary for the provision of services on behalf of Leitão e Irmão.
The Client’s personal data collected in carrying on its business will be processed by Leitão e Irmão to provide the agreed service, including quality and service-improvement audits.
4. Maintenance of personal information and security
Leitão e Irmão will hold and process your personal data with a view to carrying out in full the tasks entrusted to it within the scope of the service provided, thus contributing to improvements in the provision of its services, of its products and of its business as jewellers.
Leitão e Irmão will take appropriate measures to maintain the confidentiality and to prevent the loss or destruction of the personal data, its misuse and unauthorised access, introducing the control and monitoring measures required for the purpose.
The Client’s personal data will be kept over the life of the agreement, increased by the limitation and expiry periods of the associated rights, and it may keep them longer in order to fulfil legal obligations.
Clients may at any time request access to their personal data, their correction or erasure, as well as any clarification related to the processing of personal data by written request to the address detailed in Point 1 – Scope of our Privacy Policy, of this Policy.
Should Clients come to believe that Leitão e Irmão infringed their rights under the personal data protection act, they may file a complaint with the National Data Protection Commission.
Clients shall be responsible for updating their personal data and for requesting Leitão e Irmão to correct them.
5. Minors
In cases where the Client is under the age of 16 or mentally incompetent, the holder of parental responsibility or guardianship shall consent to the processing of the data, providing evidence of his or her legitimacy for the purpose.
