Manufactured from a sheet of silver, they are shaped and given expression primarily through the techniques of chiseling and hammering.
Originating in Porto at the beginning of the 19th century, in 1822, Casa Leitão became a benchmark in jewellery when it was appointed Goldsmith of the Brazilian Imperial Household in 1873 by D. Pedro II, Emperor of Brazil, and in 1887 by D. Luís I, King of Portugal, Jewellers of the Portuguese Crown.
