Sport Lisboa e Benfica

The 120th anniversary of Sport Lisboa e Benfica is more than enough reason for Leitão & Irmão to create a special piece to commemorate this milestone.

The years pass, but the club's iconic symbol remains: the Eagle. The eagle was the inspiration and model for the creation of a piece that aims to embody the emotional grandeur of the club for every fan.

MAKING OF

EAGLE VICTORY

Designed by sight by Casa Leitão's resident sculptor, the Victoria eagle was later sculpted in wax and transformed into silver using the "lost wax" technique, an ancient goldsmithing technique commonly used in the Leitão & Irmão workshops.

After being transformed into silver, the piece follows a variety of goldsmithing techniques such as bench work and the application of chisels, a technique that gives the piece expression.

The display case and base were developed by Casa Leitão's design department in collaboration with Sport Lisboa e Benfica, with the aim of providing a space that enhances the piece and conveys the emotion of Benfica.

In partnership with Sport Lisboa e Benfica, Leitão & Irmão is launching a jewellery collection inspired by the Eagle, the club's iconic symbol.

All the pieces in this collection were manufactured in our workshops in Lisbon from original sculptures inspired by the Eagles of the Sport Lisboa e Benfica stadium.
