The egg is a well-known symbol of renewal, birth and hope.

The tradition of creating a Silver Egg every Easter began with an order from Queen Amélia to Casa Leitão. A small egg in gold and enamel. Since then, a new decoration has been created every year on a carefully chiselled silver egg.

For the year 2023, it was decided to open up creativity to the entire company by launching a challenge to all employees, regardless of their function, to make their own proposals for the special edition 2023 Egg.

The egg selected was a proposal from Catarina Fontes, an assistant at the Estoril shop, who suggested an egg that combined the concepts of Easter and the Year of the Rabbit, an animal with a strong connection to Easter. Catarina sent in her wonderful drawings of a rabbit hopping along the egg behind a colourful carrot.

The drawings were worked on by the Leitão & Irmão workshop and the result is now available.
