Crosses in gold and silver, from discreet designs to more elaborate filigree pieces. A symbol of faith turned into jewellery, ideal to give as a gift or wear every day.
The cross is probably the most universal symbol in religious jewellery, and Leitão & Irmão dedicates its own collection to it within our goldsmithing offer. We work with crosses in yellow and white gold and in silver, in designs ranging from the simplest and most discreet, ideal for everyday wear on a fine chain, to more elaborate pieces in traditional Portuguese filigree, with an intricate design that requires slow, specialised handwork. Some of our crosses also feature diamonds or coloured stones, for those seeking extra sparkle without losing the piece's symbolic meaning. It's a very common choice as a christening, first communion or confirmation gift, but also as a family keepsake, often passed down through generations. The cross pairs easily with other jewellery, often seen as part of a layered necklace look or worn alone, as the central piece of a more understated outfit. Each cross is manufactured at the Leitão & Irmão workshops in Lisbon, following the goldsmithing and filigree techniques that have been part of Portuguese tradition for centuries, and certified by the Portuguese National Assay Office (INCM). Whether you're looking for a meaningful piece to give or to keep, you'll find options here for different ages, styles and budgets.
